A Brand Illustration Assignment
Disclaimer: This project is a classroom assignment done as a part of the third year of my B.F.A. degree at College of Art, Delhi, and is in no way associated with the organisation mentioned in the project.
We were assigned to pick a brand/product for ourselves and make an illustration promoting the product or the brand itself.
I chose Vans Oldskool as my product. My approach was to create an illustration that would be used primarily as a social media post. The illustration can also be used for press ads, posters and for other print media.
I've always been very amazed by Rune Fisker's art style, who uses flow of basic and abstract shapes to add a feeling of motion to his illustrations. It was also my reason to use that art style to create this illustration as this illustration is about Vans Oldskool shoes, which are basically skateboarding shoes. So I took this opportunity to study it and add my own touch to it.
